Japan's Inland Sea
Traveling under the Great Seto Bridge linking Honshu and Shikoku (actually a viaduct)
My feet are being as awesome as feet can be.
The trick to riding on a slow boat like this is staying outside. Out there are all the manifold beauties of the sea: blustering winds, crashing waves, 10,000 shades of light, ships wafting in and out of the sea spray, gulls, islands. Inside, just a few damp rooms smelling of hospital food and seasick. I happily whiled away the trip on deck, alternating between the autobiography of Pu-Yi and watching the ship's wake.
